Weddings in San Miguel de Allende

San Miguel de Allende is Mexico's most internationally recognized luxury wedding destination. Repeatedly named one of the world's best small cities by Condé Nast Traveler and Travel + Leisure, the city attracts both Mexican couples and foreigners seeking a destination wedding with colonial architecture, signature cuisine, and a cosmopolitan atmosphere unique to the Bajío region. The 37 verified venues range from the Rosewood San Miguel de Allende to 18th-century haciendas with pink quarry stone chapels.

Founded in 1542, San Miguel de Allende preserves an urban layout declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2008. The Parroquia de San Miguel Arcángel, with its neo-Gothic pink quarry stone façade, is the city's visual icon and appears in nearly every wedding photo session. The community of artists and expatriates that settled here since the 1940s (with the founding of the Instituto Allende) gave the city an infrastructure of galleries, restaurants, and boutique hotels that today directly benefits the wedding sector.
